Coreg Side Effects, Information and Coreg Tidbits

What is Coreg?

Coreg (Carvedilol) is used to treat mild to moderate congestive heart failure. It is also sold under the names Dilatrend, Eucardic and Carloc. Carvedilol is both an alpha and a beta blocker, and the norepinephrine works to stimulate the nerves that control the muscles of the heart by binding to the beta and alpha adrenergic receptors. This slows the hearts rythmn and reduces the hearts pumping force, thus lowering blood pressure. Coreg is sometimes prescribed after a person survives a heart attack and suffer from left ventricular dysfunction, a condition where the left side of the heart does not pump properly.
